About us

Apprenticeship Engagement Forum

The objective of the AEF is to promote interest in expanding the uptake of apprenticeships to meet the future skills needs of the construction industry.

The AEF aims to meet this key objective by initiating local engagement strategies with a range of stakeholders including students, parents, career advisors and teachers.

The AEF utilises a number of promotional tools and programs as part of an engagement strategy that includes highlighting the importance of student subject selection; promotion and involvement at careers expos; and encouraging the introduction of trade readiness and pre-apprenticeship programs.

About our flyers

These flyers are suitable for both school-based apprenticeships or post-school apprenticeships. Each flyer sets out a possible career path for the student and then suggests the elective subjects that will make that career path possible. The subject lists cover choices in years 9 & 10 and 11 & 12.

The flyers are designed to make sourcing information easy for careers advisers too. Each flyer features a strong, identifiable image that indicates each type of apprenticeship. Laid out side by side, comparisons between subject choices are simple. As a resource, they also help students and parents as a starting point to exploring the construction and plumbing industry.
